We had a discussion on what things/skills learners would like to learn in school – that is not currently taught/part of the curriculum; that they feel can help prepare them for life after school? For example Life skills, how to set up a budget, Job interview preparation, Personal financing, how to apply for a study loan/bursary, etc.
In this week’s podcast Alrick and Megan interviewed some Matric learners and had a discussion on the upcoming matric farewell. They discussed the things they are looking forward to most, challenges, how you go about planning your outfit and choosing your means of transport to make your entrance, choosing a date/partner etc. They also made some suggestions on how to improve high school matric farewell’s, new ideas on how to do things differently in the future, types of food learners prefer at such an event etc.
In this podcast chaired by Jasmine Kennedy, three of our girls discuss the latest initiative embarked upon by the Wynberg Girls’ Schools with Sun Exchange, through whom we hope to solar power the school.

This week Alrick and Megan had a discussion with some Hatties about music, being a musician/part of a band. Likes, dislikes, dreams, hopes, aspirations etc. Writing music, what inspires them to write etc. They also had a general discussion about music, what is hot and what’s not etc.
My worse fear in life/what do teenagers fear most? Our hosts, Alrick and Megan, had a discussion with some Hatties to find out what the things are teenagers are scared of or fear most (besides losing their parents/family members). Peer pressure, gang involvements, drugs, choosing a career, disappointing their parents, not achieving their dreams, etc. Why they have these fears and what parents/teachers/adults can do to help them overcome these fears.
In this week’s podcast, our hosts, TJ and Gabby, interviewed the captains of our BTHS first sports teams: Netball, rugby, hockey, and soccer, etc. Find out what their motto’s or motivation in life is, what/who inspires them on the sports field, what qualities good team captains should have and how they motivate their teams on the field etc.
Our hosts, Alrick and Megan interviewed some fellow Hatties to find out what their thoughts are on integrity, how they define it, what you can do in your everyday life to show your integrity, etc. Integrity is our core Value for July (part of our BTHS Code of Honour campaign).
