Emotional Quotient (EQ) is important for students to understand
EQ lessons will be run on a weekly basis for Grades 1-6. The main objective is for each learner to get to know themselves better, while providing the opportunity to get to know each other better as well. It also provides the teachers with the opportunity to bond with their class on a meaningful level. We try to keep the topics relevant and meaningful to the learners. For this podcast I asked several learners to share their experience of EQ. These were Declan Mead (grd 5), Georgia Waterhouse (grd 5), James Orwin (grd 2) and Corey Brand (grd 1).

Principals Address & MySchool Fundraising
The Principal describes how the funds raised by the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet fundraising programme (Woolworths, Engen Foodstops, Bidvest Waltons, Loot.co.za, Tafelberg Furnishers, Worksheet Cloud & Flight Centre) have been used within the school to improve conditions for learners. A few words on the forthcoming events during Term 4 and the exams at the end of the term.

New heated swimming pool
‘Our Grade 3’s discuss our new plan to heat the pool! We are hoping for enough sponsorship to install 100 Solar Panels by the end of the year. The class who brings in the most money gets a day at the Supertubes and the teacher gets a day off! So far we have raised enough for 83 panels!’
